I like a great deal of The Carpenter’s work, and have liked it since first hearing ‘Close To You’ during the summer of 1970.
As for that song ‘Calling Occupants”, I have less than zero (ZEE-ROW) use for it. I often wondered where they came up with such a clunky, contrived, overworked ....mess, but I didn’t care enough to look into it. Put that under the category of ‘Throw Away Songs” full of keywords and phrases unknown to most people, a song best performed only for drinking or vaping buddies.
The Carpenters is not something KZEW of Dallas (Texas, y’all) would give air time to.
