Keep in mind the timing. Skunk Cabbage was to be our next president, but Seth likely had info that could have brought her down, particularly the way she used the DNC to screw over Bernie. The Dems didn’t want that coming out, so they ‘dealt with him’ and sent a message to others.
Similar to what happened with Governor Kemp of Georgia 4 years later when he started to get suspicious about suitcases full of ‘ballots’ being pulled out from under tables at 1 AM on election night in Atlanta. Governor Kemp also ‘got the message’.
