The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their decisive advance on the front lines as part of the major offensive operation. Today, operations are concentrated on the eastern lines of Ukraine and in the direction of Zaporizhia, the key to the southern coastline. On the eastern lines, the Ukrainians are focusing on the southern flanks of the city of Bakhmut, while the center of the offensive in the south is the direction of Melitopol. From there, the Ukrainians aim to create an offensive corridor to Crimea. But Kiev’s primary target today is not the southern trenches, but the hardest front lines in the Donetsk region.

The Russians have also deployed their troops on the steppes there to prevent Ukrainian forces from advancing in the war-torn eastern regions. Most recently, in the settlement of Klischiivka in the Donetsk region, the Russian army used Kadyrov’s Chechen troops as a defensive foothold in a last-ditch effort. The Prigozhin 2023 Z-kamu page reported that Ukrainian defenders were already in the center of Klishchiivka, where Akhmat units of Kadyrovtsy’s forces are located. Yesterday, the Russian army attempted an offensive against Ukrainian forces in the vicinity of Orikhiv-Vasylivka and Klishchiivka. Troops from the Russian 137th Airborne Regiment supported these offensive actions. The Akhmat battalion also carried out an offensive on the border lines of the Klischiivka settlement in an attempt to pincer the Ukrainians from the direction of Klischiivka. However, Ukrainian forces launched an incredible counter-attack against all these Russian forces from Klischiivka in the direction of Andriivka.

The Ukrainians created an offensive corridor of about 3 kilometers between these 2 towns. The artillery units of the Ukrainian army turned the 3-kilometer clash zone into hell for the Russians. As a result of these heavy artillery operations, the Russian troops were finally pushed back to the last border junction of Andriivka. With the last Russian troops pushed to the very edge of this settlement, the Ukrainian special forces launched a counter-attack, seeking to expel all Russian troops from Andriivka. After prolonged heavy clashes, Ukrainian troops finally managed to expel the Russians from Andriivka. As a result of this dramatic operation, Ukrainian authorities announced the liberation of the town. Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar announced that her troops had carried out a successful operation and cleared Andriivka of Russian occupation forces.

According to Hanna Malyar, today’s success story of the Ukrainian Armed Forces started in Klischiivka and continued until the last Russian soldier was removed from Andriivka. On the other hand, some Russian sources also confirmed these Ukrainian successes. Russian milbloggers claimed that Ukrainian forces had completely removed Russian forces from Andriivka. Milbloggers also added that the Russian line of control in the area now runs along the railroad line east of Andriivka and Klishchiivka. Some small groups of Russian troops are still allegedly preparing for resistance along the railroad line. Other Russian sources acknowledged that Ukrainian forces control most of Kleshchiivka. However, Ukraine’s 3rd assault brigade claimed that clashes are still taking place on the border lines of Andriivka and that Russian troops are trying to hold on to this settlement. In addition to these two cities, Ukrainian forces continued their offensive operations on the front lines close to these areas.

Kiev also directed its troops to the settlement of Kurdiumivka, located southwest of Andriivka. Ukrainian artillery first shelled the Russian troops of the 11th Separate Assault Brigade near Kurdiumivka, and then shelled the center of the settlement, where the 51st Airborne Division of the 106th Airborne Division was located. Airborne Division’s 51st Guards Airborne Regiment in the center of this settlement. The Ukrainians had created a deep network of attacks from Bakhmut to the Kurdiumivka settlement. So what is happening in Bakhmut, the center of these operations? After the last Wagner troops were dispersed in the stronghold of the war, Ukrainian resistance and counterattacks have turned the balance in the city upside down. Near Bakhmut, Ukrainian defense forces destroyed 2S4 Tyulpan self-propelled mortars, 2S7 Pion self-propelled guns and 257 invaders in the last 24 hours. Considering these attempts, we can see that Kiev has been gradually gaining control over this settlement lately.

I am Ukrainian. My country has been invaded by Russia. In this video I will tell you what happened on the five hundred seventy first day of the war. Day 571: Sep 17

Today, there are a lot of updates from the east. First of all, today, it was officially confirmed that Ukrainians liberated the village of Klishchiivka. Ukrainian fighters from the 5th Assault Brigade, 80th Airmobile Brigade, and Liut Assault Brigade raised the Ukrainian flag above the village and announced that they finished the clearing operation, and that now there are no more Russians left in the village. The Battle for Klishchiivka continued for a long time, even after Ukrainians established total control over all major fortifications and hills that surround the village. If we look at the topographic map, we can see that the village is located in the lowlands. Nonetheless, Russian commanders continued pumping reserves into the death zone because of the fear of being fired by the High Command. That is why Ukrainian fighters called Klishchiivka stinky – there were so many dead Russians just from the shelling that Ukrainian assault groups that were moving from Ivanivske could smell Klishchiivka several km away.

As mentioned previously, the Russian 72nd Brigade has reportedly been completely annihilated in this direction. The circulation of such news by the Ukrainian fighters raised a discussion inside the Russian media space, and even though popular Russian sources denied this information, less prominent analysts and Russian fighters with a platform confirmed that this is true. In fact, the former commander of the 72nd Brigade Roman Venevitin publicly verified this information himself – he called everyone that he knew, and no one picked up the phone. He also confirmed the death of 2 battalion commanders inside this brigade. Moreover, today, Ukrainian forces liquidated the commander of the 31st Airborne Brigade that was sent to reinforce the region. The death of the Russian commander was publicly confirmed by the commander of the Vostok battalion, Aleksandr Khodakovskiy. Recently released geolocated footage from the region shows that the last remaining Russian forces abandoned their positions in the vicinity of Klishchiivka and tried to escape the Ukrainian fire.

Unfortunately for Russians, they were detected by a Ukrainian drone operator and were promptly targeted by Ukrainian artillery. Another geolocated footage shows how Ukrainians identified a Russian tank behind the railway embankment right in front of Klishchiivka. The tank was not given a chance to get to the position and open fire. Today, Ukrainian fighters from the 3rd Assault Brigade also released a video confirming that they established 100% control over Andriivka. The fighting for this village was very tough. The village was reduced to ruins, which is why it took time to conduct the clearing operation in the open air. At the end of the fight, Ukrainians took several units of Russians into a pocket and forced them to surrender. Ukrainians promised to give them medical care, food, and water and send for prisoner exchange as soon as possible.

Russians dropped their weapons and armor and got ready to be evacuated to the Ukrainian side when something unexpected happened. The Ukrainian drone captures the moments before the disaster – the Russian artillery opened fire at the surrendering Russian troops. Several Russians were torn to pieces, several survived, and Ukrainians got away unharmed.

What is interesting is that instead of targeting the Ukrainian group that was several houses from them, Russians tried to prioritize the elimination of the traitors who refused to fight till the end. Ukrainian drone operators identified those Russians who refused to surrender and fled and hunted them down with kamikaze drones. Right now, Ukrainians are assaulting Russian positions in the tree lines along the railway embankment north and east of Klishchiivka in order to set conditions for an attack towards the next settlement on the line – Opytne. It was also reported that Ukrainians started launching reconnaissance-in-force operations towards Kurdiumivka, which can also become the next main axis of Ukrainian advance.
