Singer Maren Morris leaving country music, blames the ‘Trump years’
Singer Maren Morris announced she is leaving Country music due to the effects the “Trump years” have had on the music genre.
“After the Trump years, people’s biases were on full display,” the “Bones” singer said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times published Friday. “It just revealed who people really were and that they were proud to be misogynistic and racist and homophobic and transphobic.”
The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter added that she resents music being used as a “toxic weapon in culture wars.”

Yeah, never heard of her. And, I’m pretty sure the drivel she peddles is not country music. I went to college in Nashville. Buck Owens. Hank Williams. Roy Clark. Johnny Cash. Patsy Cline. That was still, and always will be, country.

Which I suspect is the entire point of her public flagellation. I think she believes that blaming Trump and his supporters she will curry some favor with the left while also motivating a few hundred thousand Trump supporters to search for her on social media, spotify, youtube, etc. It’s a ploy to get some internet traffic and “buzz” flowing for an otherwise obscure entertainer that plays in roadhouses and dive bars.
For those who do not know, Maren got into a public online fight with Jason Aldean’s wife, Brittany, over “trans rights.”
Maren Morris has no problem with all of the sick woke propaganda and men becoming women, etc. It’s just fine with her. Brittany Aldean does NOT think this crap is OK and took issue with Maren Morris over it.
Maren Morris is angry because fans yelled for her to “shut up and sing.”
These people are supposed to be entertainers, not social bullies.
Nobody will miss Maren Morris.
