When we first moved to AL in 1999, I drove to Columbus for (infrequent;) shopping and even flew out of that airport straight to Roanoke, VA. Husband and I also took our children over there to the National Civil War Naval Museum and frequented some of the restaurants. These days, no way I go there alone.
