I had a Volks bug - the windshield washer system worked off the spare tire.
if the spare tire was on the car? oh well...
I had a 69 Beetle. I had to pump the brake, shift into Neutral, then rev the accelerator while operating the hand brake every time I rolled to a stop or the engine would shut off. I also had to bang my fist on the right headlight to turn it on and when I closed the door, the speaker fell out. My friends found this endlessly hilarious, but I loved that car.
