“ Doesn’t explain being on autopilot at 1K and having to punch out.”
That’s the noodle knotter for me, how does a guy with boss level training punch out of expensive flying equipment that’s subsequently capable of covering 60-70 miles on its own? The only explanation I can come up with is it auto-ejecting him from a fault and/or still having some chi-com chip crap in it that they hadn’t extracted in the past… 🧐
Yeah, something is not ‘right’ with this
Soon after the incident there were stories around about the software that runs the F35. The OS is shared with other mil aircraft and Airbus. Claims that it was open to vulnerabilities have been around for a while, they said.
Then those stories went dark...
‘Weather was bad, so I punched out” doesn’t seem logical to me.
There is no bleeping way that Capt. stealthy, sneaky, super quiet, is allowed to cruise around the busy eastern air corridor with all his lights, beepers, hummers, etc. turned off. That’s seweecidal. We have dedicated and restricted training areas where those guys can practice being as invisible as they want without interfering with the rest of the world. There was a second plane. It’s possible he was the eyes/noise of the fubarred F35. But why didn’t he follow the pilotless F35?
As I noted above I tend to believe there was a pilot health issue. Someone tripping out, turning stuff off, or the plane itself deciding it didn’t need a pilot. But in any case the USMC owes us a better grade of mumbojumbo than they’ve choked us on so far?
Auto-ejecting? Yeah, that thot is a possibility given the alleged super whizbang nature of the F35. But somebody needs to tell me why I would EVER get in, let alone fly, a plane that was capable of auto-ejecting me if it didn’t like my attitude? What if I was under a bridge, another plane, banking by a cliff, under a thunder cloud, holding at a threshold, etc. No bleeping way.
And no way is this Top Gun Mumble Boy ever getting back in one of our 80 million dollar training wheels.
