Video has emerged showing the recent hit-and-run death of a retired police chief in Las Vegas in what police are calling an intentional attack by the teenage driver.
Andreas Probst, 64, was fatally struck on August 14 while cycling in northwest Las Vegas, where he had retired after stepping down as the police chief of Bell, California, in 2009.
The 17-year-old driver, whose name was not released by police due to his age, was arrested soon after the crash and taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
Late last month, police said charges against the driver would be upgraded to include an open murder count, after investigators discovered video indicating the driver intentionally struck Probst, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
On Saturday, video circulated widely on social media and drew outraged reactions, showing the driver ask 'ready?' and the passenger, who was filming, laughing as he replies 'yeah, hit his a**.'
A visual analysis of the video by DailyMail.com confirms that it shows the same location where Probst was killed, on a stretch of North Tenaya Way, near West Centennial Parkway.
There has been no word of charges against the passenger who filmed the fatal crash and seemingly encouraged the driver to go through with it.
A spokesperson for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Saturday.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, a clip of the video was shared by actor James Woods, who commented: 'They stole a car and murdered a perfectly innocent man for laughs. When will it end? And more importantly how will it end?'

How do dashcams work? Do they start recording as soon as you start the car or start driving?
Passenger should also be tried for first degree murder as he encouraged the driver to hit the bicyclist.
These things have been occurring ever more frequently. It is a sign of the Great Apostasy that is underway and the collapse of American society and maybe of Western Civilization. He probably deserves that, but it’s more likely he will be charged as an accessory.

If you look closely, you can see towards the end of the video that the passenger taking the video is black. It’s probably safe to assume the driver is too.
The City of Bell, CA was always very corrupt. Everyone in city hall stole tax money, and they all had bloated super salaries. Tiny town, but the corruption was so bad it made national news some years ago.
How many white “teens” do you hear about doing things like this? Blacks do it because they’re constantly fed the lie of CRT, and that it’s OK to hate white people.
These murderers should never see the light of day ever again. They should spend 23 hours a day in solitary until they die.
Why blame China or Islam? You know both societies would not tolerate this. Both would give those brats the death penalty. China more quickly than Islam. In both cultures kids would know freaking better and if they didn’t, well too freaking bad. They dead.

It does, but it means that somebody died in the commission of your crime even if you didn’t lay a hand on them.
The passenger is not in control of the vehicle, so he can’t be responsible for what the driver did. The driver will bear the primary responsibility for the crime. However, this might be applicable to the passenger as well if they were using a stolen car, because it wouldn’t matter then because he stole a car and somebody died. It’s possible they could get the passenger that way.
The good is that, in Nevada, you can face the same amount of time in prison for being an accessory to the crime as you would if you were the primary actor of the crime.

There are two things to consider here (at least): 1) The perpetrators. Both of them are equally guilty. They need to be prosecuted to the fullest extant of the law. Whether that means life in prison or the death penalty, that depends on what the law is where the crime was committed. 2) Society in general. This is a crime that must be punished, and swiftly. Justice must e carried out quickly, publicly, and resolutely. If not, more will die. This is a matter of preserving in our society the idea of the sanctity of life. Otherwise, life is cheapened in our society.
