Delta has struggled to handle overcrowding at popular lounges at Delta’s major hubs like JFK Airport or Atlanta, which have become beloved for offering free food and beverages, more comfortable seating and greater security.

And escape the many low life travelers. I’d be pissed. There was a point in my career when I averaged 35 weeks on the road, with each week consisting of a minimum of four flights. Free food and beverages in an airline longe didn’t mean a thing to me or other frequent travelers. Airport longes are about comfort, having a quiet place to talk on the phone and to do business. I mostly parked myself in a work area to do work.

The one time I was in an airport lounge, it was almost as noisy as not being in one. One guy talked as loudly as he could doing business in between flights, and he didn’t care how many people heard him. It actually gave me a headache, which I rarely get. He talked for over an hour straight, as loud as hell, going from one call to another. Unfortunately, we had paid to go in there, or I would have gone to go sit among the regulars like I otherwise do.
