I’ve never done it, although I downloaded the app being curious about the delivery charge
What’s a reasonable tip? Dont the drivers get a cut of that charge?
One example, one restaurant only charged like $5 and another one was $15 a mile further away
Im new to the concept but can no longer drive, so I’m trying to figure this out.

Warning: a lot of this is from memory of the black days of the COVID lockdown and probably changed. lol
Tips are optional; drivers are paid a base pay of $2-$15 per order. Businesses are charged in one of three payment plans, which basically tacks on up to a 30% fee for the business (30%, which buys the business better placement in the Doordash apps, promises of increased sales, etc). Most businesses change the price of their menu to pay for the increase.
Because of the way Grubhub, Doordash and the like treated small businesses during the "COVID crisis", we typically don't use them for that. Chain restaurants already have national contracts in place and can take the delivery usury.
