Sometimes important milestones in a military conflict may initially fail to attract the attention of the media despite their crucial impact on the battlefield situation. In Ukraine, Kyiv has just scored a major win by recapturing of the so-called Boyko Towers. The name may not yet be quite as familiar to the average member of the public as, say, the Snake Island, but with the enormous military and security potential of these oil and gas platforms in the Black Sea, this might be about to change. This footage released by the the Strategic Communications Directorate of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shows Leopard tank operators from the 47th Mechanised Brigade describing their experiences using the tanks.
Various tank operators and crew discuss how much they prefer using the more advanced Leopard tanks over older Soviet style tanks that are smaller, slower and not fitted with night vision equipment. The 47th Mechanised Brigade was first involved with the counter offensive in Robotyne using the Leopard tanks to help troops advance and recapture territory.
