My difficulty with the theories on warp drive is the effects of inertia. If the laws of inertia exist in those moments when the relative world around you moves faster than the speed of light, that has to be understood. Those occupying such vehicles should be smashed into paper thin sheets and all the electronics into silver/silicon dust. In the movie, “The Fly,” the person went to the receiving destination, reassembled as half human and half fly. That would be a terrible Alcubierre warp of time.

There needs to be further research because the future of mankind may depend upon it.

As long as the Americans get there before the Russians! We benefited so much from being the first people to walk on the moon. Who can estimate the value of communicating with an advanced civilization in the Andromeda Galaxy?

The Alcubierre drive works by (supposedly) accelerating a pocket of space-time, and anything within it accelerates with it while experiencing no g-forces. It’s similar to when accelerating while falling you experience no g-forces; it’s all part of Einstein’s GR. This (supposedly) also allows for FTL travel, since it is space-time, not matter or energy, that is moving. But I don’t think it is even possible, since any kind of FTL travel results in paradoxes that cannot be resolved. Such as experiencing effects before the cause.
