As we commemorate the 9/11 terror attacks, we're taking a look back at "CBS Evening News" anchor and managing editor Norah O’Donnell's 2021 interview with Air National Guard pilots Lt. Gen. Marc Sasseville and Heather Penney. They recounted the harrowing events from that Tuesday morning in 2001 when they heroically rushed into their F-16 fighter jets in what they knew might be their last mission to protect the nation's capital after the World Trade Center attacks in New York City. Asleep at the switch. They should have been up immediately, asking questions later. Just listening to these two pilots what you hear is how bureaucrats running things create disasters of epic proportion and our military has been the first casualty. So sorry our enemies can get hold of this broadcast and see what our weak links truly are. There was no reason why the military did not get advance intel on this attack, and act immediately upon it. At the time there was a lot of criticism leveled, but since then, with Obama’s gutting of the military and intelligence command structures leaving only political leftist hacks to run them, it’s been downhill ever since.
I was under the impression that the USAF/Guard/USMC/USN always had several ALERT5, ALERT15 around the Country ready to be airborne in Minutes fully Armed with an assortment of weapons that were matched to the particular aircraft to Take Out The Trash before they litter on Our Country. But I guess I was wrong.
Just because the “cold war” was over is no reason to be lax about the security of the Nation.
We pass out money to the rest of the world like a rich kid with a Pez dispenser AND THEY ALL STILL HATE US!!!
I say F’EM ALL !!! Keep Our Money and let them work for it like Americans did to get the Country to where We are the same way We did. But they’re just too damned LAZY!!!
And if the T(otally) S(tupid) A($$}{0£€$) would stop harassing Granny in the wheelchair and search every pore of the life forms that should be PROFILED 9/11 could have been prevented.
According to these two pilots those gaps have been filled.
On a country by country basis, roughly 80% of the world’s GDP does not hate us. Which is what actually counts.
TSA did not exist at that time. Nor were there restrictions on things like box cutters.
Not that I agree with all of the present day TSA policies and procedures. But, we’ve not had anymore jetliners fly into skyscrapers.
And you think that’s because they don’t allow box cutters and water bottles?

By “This” you mean the US? I stifle a laugh. Great countries do not use anti-racketeering methods against politicians and their lawyers.
