[...voracious eaters of ticks...]
And chickens. If I don’t get the coop closed before dark, I have to make sure and check that no opossums have snunk in. They hide in the corner and play dead until the chickens go to sleep. Then they slaughter every one they can get ahold of.

It should’ve played possum.
To: nickcarraway
It looks more like a raccoon to me. Possums don’t have bushy tails. Their tails look rat-like and hairless.
According to a Reddit user, the possum landed in another orangutan exhibit at the zoo.So, possum volleyball.

It’s in Australia. Some of their possums have bushy tails.
And, of course, want to kill you.
Because Australia.

It is definitely a raccoon, not a possum. You can see he has a bushy tail, the ‘bandit mask’ around his eyes, and a long hairy snout.

From the nature programs on TV, you would believe that orangutans are all peaceful, cuddly creatures. We’ll never know what caused this. Maybe the possum misgendered the orangutan.

Aussie possums are slightly less disgusting-looking than North American versions:

“I was in NZ about 15 years ago. The locals took me hunting at night for these vermin. Their eyes shine like red candles. Had a heckuva good time!”
They are harmless and they can eat up to 5000 ticks a night. They also make great pets. They’re not vermin.

Lol... at least the tail part is less disgusting. They are cute though, in an ugly kinda way.
To: Man from Oz
My apologies, it’s 4000 ticks a week.
