As a man, I could rewrite this in a much more concise way:
“She wore a denim dress, sweater, and sandals, tied her unkempt hair back with a scarf, and carried an overpriced purse.”
Shame to spend so much money on rags like that and still look like crap. She looks like she needs a shower and a hair washing.
