A “whistleblower” says he reported Paxton to the FBI with NO EVIDENCE

Clearly a card carrying member of the Bush frat boy party.

Well, they have to look at the evidence that was turned up, if any, not just the predicate.

Let me get this right: We have to convict him of crimes to find out what he crimes he committed.

I've watched much of the testimony so far and it appears that this group in the second quarter of 2020 convinced themselves that Paxton was being blackmailed by Nate Paul. There were some reasons them for them to suspect this, such as Paxton’s affair with a women hired by Nate Paul, but they did not take their concerns to Paxton, but rather suspected the worst and ended up going to the FBI, with their suspicions, but with no real evidence, so little evidence that the FBI has 3 years later not pursued charges against Paxton.

Paxton’s defense has hinted there was a wider conspiracy with outside forces acting against Paxton, possibly involving George P. Bush, but without revealing all of their exculpatory evidence, until the House witnesses have completed their testimony.

The FBI?? Reporting a Republican State official (AG) to the FBI is like reporting him to Pelosi or Schumer or Soros or the democrat party. Ridiculous. This was a state matter from years ago. Wonder why they waited so long? There’s a reason.

Look at the whistleblower supporters on X. “The FBI then investigated and found a crime!”…..it never occurs to them that you don't investigate a person in search of a crime?!

I consider the entire process of impeachment to be very misleading.

All the impeachment / removal process is doing, is a political decision on whether to continue the “employment” of the elected official. It is not a court, it does not determine guilt or not, it simply decides whether employment is continued or not. It is no different than a corporation deciding to continue employment of a person who has been accused of something. Employment is decided independent of any legal court action.

Therefore, facts and evidence really do not matter. The heart of the matter is: should this person (Paxton) continue being employed as AG or not. That is a purely political decision and should solely be based on whether he can continue to effectively execute the office AG or not.

The defending attorney did his prep work.

It looks like a handful of junior suits in the AG office took their water cooler gossip to the FBI without any hard evidence.

I watched the trial. The defense tore the witnesses apart.
