By this logic, Putin isn’t a threat because we don’t see him “actually invading” Poland or the Baltics.

There is a huge difference between preparing for a defensive war and launching an invasion because you think you might be invaded, but by Ukraine?
Why didn’t he invade Poland if he thinks NATO is a threat? Are you saying that once the cornerstone of the NATO plan, Ukraine joining NATO, then snap goes the trap and it’s off to Moscow?
