We used to go out when the street lights came on, tie a rock into a white tee shirt, throw it up and net bats chasing it in the way down.
“Monkey bars on concrete! Fun stuff.”
Even us preteens in the 50’s were not that stupid!
Or maybe we couldn’t afford concrete.
