Nonsense about “slow offensive” coming from armchair experts and media, not ministers – Ukraine’s Foreign Minister

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said that it is armchair experts and the media who talk nonsense about the “slow offensive” by the Ukrainian military, not the ministers of Ukraine’s partner countries.

“When we talk to my counterparts, ministers who are getting official information from their military and their intelligence, in-depth and comprehensive information, no one has any complaints about the progress of the Ukrainian counteroffensive.
No one asks: ‘Why is it so slow?’ On the contrary, everyone is focused on ‘What else can we do to help?’... But then when you look at the media, everyone has only one question: ‘Why is it all so slow?’”

Kuleba said that he might repeat his earlier statement: that critics of the Ukrainian offensive should “shut up”.

“Somebody sitting on a sofa or in a warm studio who takes the liberty of criticising the speed of the Ukrainian offensive is criticising an individual soldier who’s been in battle, who has sacrificed himself, lost comrades, advanced a kilometre through a minefield, won a one-on-one battle with a Russian in a trench. He looks at his phone and is told: ‘You’re doing everything so slowly, can you hurry up?’
We must defend the honour, dignity and victory of the Ukrainian soldier. And anyone who comments on the actions of the Ukrainian military disrespectfully will get this reaction from me.
We know what a feat our soldiers perform every day. They deserve respect. Ministers understand this and they don’t talk such nonsense. Yet journalists, commentators and armchair experts tell us how slow the offensive is.”
