I am Ukrainian. My country has been invaded by Russia. In this video I will tell you what happened on the five hundred fifty eighth day of the war.
Day 558: Sep 04
Today, there is a lot of news from the south.
FIRST of all, today, the Russian large-scale drone strike on Ukrainian harbors went terribly wrong. Since the main Russian targets had been the harbors on the sea, Ukrainians increased their reliance on the harbors on the Danube River, such as those in Izmail and Reni.
Ukrainians counted on the proximity to the NATO border as a strong deterrent for Russians because Ukrainian harbors here are just 200 meters away from Romania, and if anything goes wrong, Russians would end up hitting the NATO member. And when it comes to drone strikes – many things can go wrong: the drone can malfunction and miss the target, Ukrainians can damage the drone and cause it to deviate, and the drone’s GPS can be affected by electronic warfare systems. Under such circumstances, constant strikes mean that it is just a matter of time until the drones start hitting Romania.
As it turned out, Russian forces were unwilling to avoid the risk and continued striking Reni and Izmail, and today, several Russian drones reportedly hit the Romanian territory. The Romanian Ministry of Defense responded to the situation by stating that the Russian drone strike was aimed at the Ukrainian Reni seaport, which they strongly condemned, however, in their evaluation, the drone strike did not pose direct military threats to Romania.
Some analysts evaluated this as a prudent response aimed at avoiding unnecessary escalation, while others stated that the lack of strong repercussions would be exploited by Russians and that Russians would not be afraid to strike objects close to the border.
In the meantime, Ukrainians continue conducting their own strikes on the Russian military objects in the western part of the Kherson region. As alluded to previously, after Ukrainians destroyed multiple Russian air defense systems along the western shore of Crimea and the southern shore of Kherson, Ukrainians gained almost absolute freedom of movement for the aerial drones, which allowed Ukrainians to start using Bayraktars once again.
Today, Ukrainians conducted another successful strike on the areas of concentration of Russian forces. If yesterday Ukrainians hunted down a boat with ammunition and personnel, then today they hunted down a truck with ammunition and personnel exactly in the same region.
Meanwhile, Russian sources started complaining that Ukrainian reconnaissance drones started getting even deeper and chasing operations involving helicopters is slowly becoming a common occurrence. The analysts are warning that if Russians get used to using helicopters for this purpose, Ukrainians will definitely start creating traps and destroying them.
By the way, today, it was confirmed that Russian forces lost another assault helicopter, Ka-52. The helicopter was reportedly on a mission on the Azov Sea when it suffered a malfunction and crashed into the water. Russian sources reported that the accident happened 1.5 km from the shore and that both pilots managed to survive.
Coincidentally, today, Ukrainians released an interview with the Russian soldier who recently helped Ukrainians steal a Russian helicopter Mi-8. The interview sent a shock through the Russian media space, as most of them reported that Russian soldiers were tricked or that the GPS broke down and Russians wandered onto the Ukrainian airfield.
In reality, the pilot was against the invasion of Ukraine, did not see any sense in killing each other, and concluded that the only viable way out for him was to switch sides. Unfortunately, other crew members did not share the same view and put up high resistance. The pilot got shot, however, Ukrainians were already there, eliminated resistance, and evacuated the injured pilot.
As a result, Ukrainians got the newest Russian modification of the helicopter Mi-8, which is already used by the Ukrainian military and also a valuable pilot. Operation Synytsia is very similar to the legendary Israeli operation Diamond in 1966 when they managed to steal the most advanced Russian fighter jet at the time, MiG-21. The pilot of the helicopter said that the fastest and safest way to end this unnecessary war was to follow his example, as he no longer needed to follow Russian orders without the threat of imprisonment or something worse.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are currently achieving historic successes as part of the summer offensive in the south.
The Ukrainians, who have become giants on the critical front line stretching from Zaporizhia to Kherson, made incredible breakthroughs this week in the direction of Orikhiv.
While the Russians have been in a stalemate in this region for about 3 months, the Ukrainians’ activity, especially in the strategic part of Orikhiv between Robotyne and Verbove settlement, has upset all balances in Zaporizhia.
Dozens of German Leoapard 2 main battle tanks in the Ukrainian army’s inventory moved towards the Verbove settlement, where Russian forces fled after Robotyne.
Here were the last remaining lines of defense from the Russians. But the rear of these lines led exactly to the first main defense network of the Russian army.
In other words, the Ukrainians were very close to breaking the first main defense line of Russia with their Leopard 2 main battle tanks and Marder armored vehicles.
In today’s hot topic, we will discover how the Ukrainians influenced the fate of the war and what they did when they were so close to the main Russian defense lines.
We will also take a look at where the war stands after this critical situation.
FIRST of all, we told you about the massive Ukrainian brigade of Leopard 2 main battle tanks that crossed the Robotyne and came to Verbove.
A striking video of this formation was shared by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
Dozens of Leopard 2 main battle tanks were seen in the critical terrain between Robotyne and Verbove before breaking through Russia’s first line of defense.
Among these heavy tanks, a large number of Ukrainian troops were waiting to break through the Russian defense lines.
It is worth noting that the Ukrainian forces in this area included soldiers of Ukraine’s 82nd Assault Brigade.
Kiev was saving this brigade for important operations in Zaporizhia. At the right moment, the huge Ukrainian tank brigade appeared on the scene and the Russians The first main defense line in Zaporizhia was broken by heavy artillery fire.
Now the Leopard 2, Challenger 2 main battle tanks and Düğer heavy armored vehicles that crossed the Verbove have managed to break through the north-eastern and south-western flanks of the Russian 2nd main defense line.
Verbove between Orikhiv and Tokmak is a critical point.
There is a big double flank encirclement of Ukrainian tanks from the north-east of Verbove towards Orikhiv and from the south-west towards Tokmak. This breakthrough expands laterally and puts Russian troops in a double cross behind Russia’s second line of defense.
Infiltration by Ukrainian infantry units was also a factor in the Russian failure in this area. The specific area of influence of the first belt of Russia’s main defense system is located just east of the recently captured Ukrainian village of Robotyne and about three kilometers west of the village of Verbova.
Following this historic victory, the Kiev authorities also made the expected announcements about the activities of its army. Speaking to Ukrainian television, Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar announced that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have finally broken the first line of the vaunted main defense area in the Zaporizha region of Russia.
Many hope that this breakthrough will facilitate a deeper and faster breach of Russia’s defenses. And this view seems to make sense at the moment. Ukraine is receiving the M1 Abrams tanks promised by the US within days. The Pentagon has also ordered AMRAAM missiles for Ukraine for 192 million dollars.
The participation of M1 Abrams tanks in the Ukrainian offensive will change many dynamics on the front line.
Especially in this critical period when the Ukrainians break through the first Russian defense line in Zaporizhia, the US contribution will facilitate the Ukrainians to reach much deeper areas in the region.
Already, the fact that Ukraine’s clawed path to the breach near Verbova has left the Russians vulnerable to flanking attacks has upset the basic balance of power there.
Russian forces remain deployed with small numbers of troops on a long ridge line of high terrain overlooking the western heights above Robotyne and also in areas to the east of Ukraine.
These areas are the current direction of attack. This means that the Ukrainians, with western support, have the opportunity to move into much larger areas after breaching the first Russian defense line.

LOL, what does that picture have to do with the medical females being required to register starting in October other than just being a Getty photo of a couple of females in uniform?
I gave you the actual story in the article the generic photo was used in.
“In Ukraine, military registration for women is still voluntary. However, from October 1, 2023, female workers in the medical and pharmaceutical fields will be required to register with the military commissions.”
“From October 1, 2023, only doctors, nurses and pharmacists are subject to mandatory military registration.
You can register for military service at the territorial recruitment center. To do this, you need to come with a passport, a diploma of medical education and a certificate from the place of work.”
To say nothing of the organic purple-headed yogurt slinger as a palate-cleanser...
Nah, the gals are being recruited for Zelenskyy’s meat grinder. The only thing that’s misleading is your Cognitive Dissonance as you defend this stupid war.
This is the google translated title and some explaining text from that meme illustration.
