This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. (2 Timothy 3:1)
Does this seem familiar? The modern world is definitely headed down this path.
By the way, here is a verse that I like. It seems to be describing political correctness:
"There is a way which seems right unto man, but the end leads to death" (Proverbs 14:12)

Does this seem familiar? The modern world is definitely headed down this path.True but God looks at the entire planet, not just the United States.
For certain, no nation resembling the United States in the 2nd half of the 20th century can exist during the Great Tribulation, therefore, America must either fall, become irrelevant on the world scene, or morph with Europe into some trans-Atlantic super state.
An America that has fallen, or declined into irrelevancy is not necessarily a triggering event for the rapture and tribulation.
However, an America under influence of the globalist left that merges with Europe I could see as a triggering event.
