War Update Ukrainian fighters are pushing the enemy positions again today in a tactical advance. The Russian army had built a formidable 3-layer defense line in Zaphorizhia. Today, Ukrainian forces have continued their offensive and are finally managing to move vertically behind the Russian defense lines on the southern axis. In addition, the ‘Assault Guards’ Brigades Advance Into the Depths of the Russian Defense towards Melitopol, in a special operation. During this operation, The Russians were knocked out of their positions with significant losses for them. We’ll be bringing you the details of this incredible operation shortly. Weeks of brutal fighting have resulted in small but significant advances, such as Ukrainian forces opening a breach in the so-called land bridge between Russia and Crimea.

Ukrainian fighters made good gains in Verbove with a sudden blow to the trapped Russian army in the south, just after launching the largest airstrikes in history deep into Russia and Crimea. With the liberation of Robotyne, the Ukrainian forces gained momentum and had a serious advantage to break through the Russian first line of defense. After Robotyne, a very fast breakthrough took place for a 22-kilometer offensive corridor towards Tokmak.

From here, advancing towards Tokmak and liberating Tokmak could become the biggest achievement of Ukrainian forces in recent times. Tokmak is an important center in the land corridor between Crimea and Donbas. The Ukrainian Armed Forces needed to break through the enemy defenses in Tokmak before the onset of prolonged rains and cold temperatures.

The Ukrainians finally seized this chance in Verbove and Novoprokopivka in a 45-hour operation. With this breakthrough, the Ukrainian forces were able to slip behind the Russian second line of defense. After nearly a week of hand-to-hand combat with the enemy on the southern axis, the brave Ukrainian soldiers finally opened the door to their goal. In less than 48 hours, Ukrainian forces have advanced more than 9km deep into the enemy defenses in the direction of Melitopol, towards the Tokmak line. From here the fighting will intensify.

The development of events will depend on many factors, including the amount of equipment, ammunition and motivated fighters. The enemy will also make every effort to protect this position. From this point on, Ukrainian forces will have to intimidate the Russian army both by physical force pressure and psychological pressure. According to the news in the Ukrainian local press, the Ukrainian special assault groups have already started to do this. Ukrainian defense forces have advanced deep into the enemy’s defense in the Melitopol direction. They also managed to eliminate up to a company of occupants.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the statement of Colonel Mykola Urshalovich, Acting Director of the Department of Planning of Application of the Main Department of the National Guard of Ukraine, during a briefing. According to him, the personnel of the assault groups of the “Offensive Guard” brigades in cooperation with the AFU units had success in the Melitopol direction and advanced deep into the enemy defense in certain areas. “During the offensive the Guardsmen eliminated a company of invaders and seized their positions, and destroyed the enemy’s tracked armored gun tractor near Novoprokopivka,” Urshalovich said.
Let’s take a look at how the road to Tokmak was opened and how Ukrainian forces broke through the Russian second line of defense by 9km in less than 2 days. Yesterday, the 46th Brigade announced that its troops had reached the western part of Verbove, but underlined that much tougher fighting lies ahead. The brigade made some statements about the developments. The battles will be on the heights further south and southwest.

Even if we can cross the next line of defense, there may be deceptions as Russia is still further ahead. While Ukrainian forces aim to deploy forward, they also have to defend against Russian efforts to push them back again. Russia is constantly counterattacking and conducting an active defense. Our battles this month have shown that the enemy will not give up captured territory, and there is much work ahead. In the latest analysis by the authorities with the help of the topographic map, we can see that Ukrainian forces have advanced to the northwestern outskirts of Verbove.

This Saturday, three cities are celebrating their day. The cities that are indispensable part of Ukraine.

ODESA. Our support in the south, on the Black Sea. A city that, together with Ukraine, has and will always have global significance. A port on which the lives of various nations depend – from Ukrainian exports through the Great Odesa. A city of culture that knows how to be interesting to everyone and respects everyone.

We have defended Odesa from destruction. Because the Russian regime is incapable of bringing anything other than degradation. And we will return security to Odesa. Odesa has always been a place where you feel lightness and happiness. Odesa will remain this way. Congratulations on your Day!

SUMY. Our outpost in the northeast. Every year, on the second Saturday of September, it celebrates its day. And it will always celebrate it as a free, Ukrainian city.

During these times – the times of war – unfortunately, we often receive reports of Russian terror from Sumy. About shelling, missiles, and bombs. About constant attempts by Russian sabotage groups to infiltrate the region.

“But despite everything, Sumy region is alive. Sumy is alive and gives strength to the entire region. And when I was in the city, I felt that there is faith there. Faith that evil will not prevail. Faith in people. Faith in Ukraine. Faith that we will definitely get through this time. And we will win. It will be so. Sumy, congratulations!

And the third city – LYSYCHANSK. A city that Ukraine still needs to reclaim along with the entire Luhansk region.

Today, no one can specify a date when the city will be free again. But everyone who fights and works for Ukraine is doing everything possible so that our cities and villages currently under occupation can once again experience normal and free life.

Lysychansk has always been one of the pillars of the east of our state, one of the key cities. A proud city! It will remain so. A city that knows how to work and is rightfully proud of its achievements. Together with Ukraine, it’s all possible. With our strength, unity, and our ability to take care of each other – all cities together, all villages, all people.

And one more thing worth mentioning.

Undoubtedly, we will defend Ukraine and restore freedom to all our land. Each of us feels that this will be a Ukraine with different rules. The borders are the same. Democracy is probably just as turbulent. Freedom is one of the greatest in Europe, as always.

But without a doubt, there will be no more decades-long ‘business as usual’ for those who plundered Ukraine and put themselves above the law and any rules. And I thank the Ukrainian law enforcement for their determination to bring every case stalled for decades to a just conclusion. The law must work. It is so. It will be so.
