Deion Sanders' Colorado tenure begins with a 45-42 upset win over No. 17 TCU

The Deion Sanders era at Colorado started with a massive upset.

The Buffaloes got a late fourth-down stop with 55 seconds left to hang on for a 45-42 win over No. 17 TCU in Fort Worth on Saturday. QB Shedeur Sanders — the son of the Pro Football Hall of Famer — set the Colorado single-game record for passing yards while two-way star Travis Hunter had 11 catches as a wide receiver and an interception as a defensive back.

“I’m so thankful right now … man I’m loving these kids," Deion Sanders told Fox after the game. "Great joy for me to have this opportunity.”

Primetime delivers again. Whatever one can say about Deion and his brashness, he backs it up. Colorado was the worst Power 5 team in college football last year yet Coach Prime won despite being a 21-point underdog. The team despite a complete roster turnover looked prepared from the first snap. One of the most amazing coaching previews I have ever seen. Travis Hunter, if he stays healthy, is going to be a Heisman finalist. The last time people paid attention to Colorado football was in 2005.

Terrific game. Sanders son is the starting QB and was fantastic- had an answer every time they had the ball and was cool as a cucumber late in the game when CU had to come from behind on 3 different occasions

Talk to me about it after ten wins. I don’t see any discipline. I’m also not sure about TCU. Maybe they don’t reload each year like Bama and Georgia. That’s probably it.

Colorado has speed at every skill position. They could cause a lot of damage this year.

I just don’t want to see him return to FSU, though.
