That is their training. The more complete video displays the procedure book describing the move as controlling the situation. Hard to blame them for following their training or the procedure since failing to obey the orders of the police is an indicator of behavior that may endanger others. This woman probably had excuses made for he her whole life. Not being held accountable led to her behavior in this incident, behavior that got her killed.

If that’s their training then their training procedures are poor.

“ failing to obey the orders of the police is an indicator of behavior that may endanger others.”

Sorry but that’s beyond a stretch, yes it’s stupid to disobey a cop, but to supposition your refusal to do so makes you a danger to others in and of itself?!? Sorry that’s just nonsense.

Yes she should have complied, but putting yourself in front of a vehicle particularly for an alleged non violent infraction is just foolish, if that’s training then that’s a dumb procedure that needs to be updated. Putting your life in direct harm to protect others as a peace officer, sure.. but to do so when there is no direct threat to others? That’s foolishness

If this person have been alleged to have been violent or waving around weapons or even threatening people, etc sure but given the facts of this situation, that’s just silly.

She should have obeyed, but that doesn’t negate this was an insanely escalated situation for a shop living allegation… seems to me policies and procedures need evaluated here
