When a President steps down for any reason the vice President takes his place.
That’s true - if Biden steps down before the election, Harris would be President for the remainder of his term. But I do t think that’s what Root meant by “replacement”.
The Democrats don’t nominate a successor, the coronate. After Obama’s second term, Hilary was coronated - not his VP, Joe Biden.
It will be Gavin Newsom or someone else with a good chance of winning, not Harris. People say it will be Michelle, but I think she is too lazy.
“When a President steps down for any reason the vice President takes his place.”
Now that’s just silly-
Ford was in in 6 months-
KamelToe will be gone before The Big Guy quits.
Maybe Big Mike replaces her.
Then Big Guy quits, and Big Mike tags Slick Gavin.
But Gavin Taps KamelToe for the Senate seat before he quits.
If DiFi lasts so long . . .
That's true but then who takes the VP position>
Biden steps down, Harris becomes pres and Newsom is appointed VP.
Harris is then offered a very lucrative job or payoff and decides not to run for office in 2024. Newsom then becomes the number one candidate......
That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.
VP has a bad rep, but she is an African-American woman. I heard Trump has support of 20% of African-Americans, so she is probably looking pretty good to the Demonicrat party nowadays.
