Agreed. I've never thought that Putin acted much like a real communist. Seems much more like a power-hungry, egotistical, wannabe tyrant, and a bit of a capitalist to boot. We've got boatloads of those throughout our own government.
In any case, Putin did at one time seem like someone who could be reasoned/negotiated with, but I don't think anyone in our government is interested in that these days. Maybe that's why he decided to go into Ukraine.
