That is the failure of joint replacement tech. I was going to get a knee replaced. After agreeing to it and getting into the “next day” planning I got extra paperwork from the ortho surgeon’s office — he never mentioned this. So, a replacement is prone to infection since there is so little blood flow into the joint the body cannot easily patrol for bugs. So, every time I would be scheduled for teeth cleaning I’d have to start antibiotics 3-4 days ahead of time. Any other pathway for infection is ignored, just dental work.
But, with so little blood flow into the joint the antibiotics don’t always have enough support from the immune system. If you get an infection you have a few days to get a low success injection of antibiotics into the joint or arrange either a knee replacement or amputation.
Uhh, I’d rather limp.
Joint replacement is a scam, like tranny surgery.
