The 1952 cases were likely much higher an was about the time my late wife likely caught it and went undetected until 1985 when she became a sudden incomplete quadriplegic. When the physical therapist measured her limbs they said the abnormalities were consistent with Polio. She would have been 2 years old in 1952.

Many people including her had mild childhood cases that went undiagnosed only to have it come back in a non-contagious form even decades later & wreaking havoc on them.
