Climate emergency. The Covid is wearing thin, and WWIII is too risky. They are priming us with the 'hottest year ever' propaganda (although where I live, it has been cool all year apart from a few days in July (Summer??)).

I guess the scenario would involve taking over oil companies and coal burning plants (for the good of the planet). Curtailing power use. Setting up a Climate Police unit to enforce compliance. Rationing, complete monitoring of your energy use, that sort of thing...

It seems like that is the road we are on.

Wars often involve rationing domestic consumer and critical goods.
It would be easy to envision Biden bringing back WW2 style ration stamps and limiting gasoline purchases.
