He who steals my purse, steals gold. He who steals my mind, steals for trash. —Pogo
Correct on it goign to general fund, there is no money set aside for SS and its gonna go away—probably about the time I am eligible to start drawing it
And for the most part the liberals do NOT want a national divorce and seem keen on using the military (good luck) and whatever other resources than can to stop it.
We are good as long as we keep West Virginia:
Just bring the IOUs to any local West Virginia bank—I am sure they will cash them.
;-)
yes, and unfortunately a lot of people are goign to trade in their principles and the future of their descendants to “get what they have coming”
The Left doesn’t want a national divorce. They want to continue the abusive relationship. Almost the moment such a split would take place, they would attack. There is no good possible scenario for any of this.
They don’t want a divorce, they want absolute power and total control.
“I think they are trying to steal the funds in the Social Security.”
Which Funds are they exactly?
It’s taxes in, Soc Sec out, and any current account balance is IOU’d and spent on Goobermint Largesse.
There ain’t no LockBox with a stash of “Your” money on it.
SCOTUS says it’s just a tax like any other.
Payouts are at the sole discretion of Goobermint.
There ain’t no “right” to “your” money.
If you are depending on it to be there when you need it, you are a fool.
There are no funds in Social Security. It’s been paid out of current taxes since the beginning.
“Taxes were collected for the first time in January 1937 and the first one-time, lump-sum payments were made that same month. “ https://www.ssa.gov/history/hfaq.html
The idea of a pot of gold called social security does seem to be seniors favorite myth.
Huh? Fed.gov has been stealing SS funds for 30 years.
It’s a Ponzi scheme deemed legal by congress.
I have said as much here and been called names.
SS is basically a welfare program. Nothing wrong with that. You don’t have an “Account” and most people get far more out than they put in.
I call it a Ponzi scheme with guns.
1968
https://www.ssa.gov/history/BudgetTreatment.html
In early 1968 President Lyndon Johnson made a change in the budget presentation by including Social Security and all other trust funds in a”unified budget.” This is likewise sometimes described by saying that Social Security was placed “on-budget.”
What funds?
“Social Security and all other trust funds”
Correction:
Social Security and all other “trust funds”.
They are not trusts and they are not funds—they are accounting magic.
I don’t disagree.
When you and I send in our quarterly tax payments, or our 4/15 taxes owed, or our employers send in withholding on our behalf, only one (1) check is written payable to the US Treasury. A check isn’t written to SS, then one to Medicare, and another for income taxes, and so on.
It’s all divvied up once it gets to Washington.
But there are NO funds in social security, it is the biggest ponzi scheme ever devised.
Yup—you have to carefully watch the magician’s hands—and ignore the light show, the pretty girl and the cute rabbit...
