Try growing basil and oregano. There may be a profit in that.

I predicted this once that door was opened. Just like gay marriage, look where that’s led.

Those that seek to destroy this country always promote their plan promising a bright outcome.

Only state-chartered banks that are chartered in a state that has legalized pot can accept deposits from the pot businesses.

Bankruptcy is an entirely Federal process, and you cannot file if you have any assets or inventory that is pot. The concern is that it may be required that a trustee manage a business for some period or liquidate inventories, no can do in the federal world.

Exactly ! The smell of dope is the stench of failure.

That’s a part of the equation to collapse the country. I hope FR’s idiot libertarians are sober when it happens.

The thing that infuriates me most is banning tobacco smoking in apartments and condos, but “medicinal” marijuana is exempt.

Brilliant!

Like who didn’t see this coming?

Who? People who refute, deny, are totally ignorant of basic laissez-faire free-market interpersonal human economic interactions who thought the WINDFALL of tax “profits” (actually, takings) could allow liberal politicians to spend themselves out of the deficit holes they spun themselves INTO.

Of course, this, as with every other item from corn to shoes to electric cars, will follow these principles IN A FREE MARKET.

Unfortunately, we’re living in the USA in a controlled economy (one Benito Mussolini would have recognized like his face in a shaving mirror) and, to keep this market from collapsing, does anyone think “the government” will bail out THIS baleful enterprise?

Doubtful. But to replace the hundreds of millions of dollars in windfall tax revenue in states which have legalized marijuana which sector of the legitimate WAGE-earning economy will be taxed again when the flow of money stops?

Class? Class? The middle class that’s right. Right after we bail out all the dope-smoking college grads who have welched on their loan obligations.

How can California be the state with the highest annual sales when the national sales total is considerably more than 50 times that of California? Doper math?

Not a new theory. My dad used to say “the government couldn’t even run a whorehouse”. Turns out, that wasn’t just an expression. It’s true. The federal government took over the famed Mustang Ranch in Nevada, and it went out of business. A famous economist, Milton Friedman once said “Put the government in charge of the Sahara desert, and soon there will be a shortage of sand.”

Government should be in charge of a limited number of things, and required to do them well. Right now it’s the opposite.

Someone was telling me the other day they remember back in the '80s you could get a 1 ounce bag of Columbian for $30.00. Sticky buds with red fibers, very clean, few sticks, few seeds. Rolled like a dream, perfect for pipes & bongs. Readily available. Guess the market hasn't changed much.

In the late '90s, I remember an eighth was selling for about $60 on the West Coast. I don't know what prices were like in the rest of the country, or how that compares to now.

That $30.00 oz in the '80s would've been in Denver.

I think the long game was legalization. Tax collection was just the sugar to make the medicine go down.
