Even if I where a Ukraine which I assume you are as no american as any vested interest in this war...I would want the madness to stop...THERE IS NO MILITARY SOLUTION FOR UKRAINE...don’t be deceived by we need more weapons, better weapons...even yet give us nuclear weapons...there is no end here until everyone is dead...WHY CAN’T THIS SINK INTO SOME PEOPLE SKULLS?

Its’ just sad.

There certainly is a military solution.
If Ukraine can take Melitopol Ukraine can cut off logistics to the bulk of Russian conquests in the south. It then turns into a Kherson bridgehead situation, where a Russian withdrawal is just a matter of time. And that alone will vastly improve the Ukrainian strategic position going forward.

It might also cause a failure of nerve in the Russian leadership, good if it happens, but very worthwhile even if it doesn’t. It will vastly improve Ukraines negotiating position.

It helps a lot to look at a map. And do some research into weapon ranges and capabilities.

Perhaps the Ukrainians don’t want to live under the Russian boot again. I’m sure, by your logic, that you’d vilify Poland for defending itself if Russia invaded Poland.

Some people love their country, and are willing to give all to defend it against an existential threat. Perhaps, though, that is a conviction you do not understand.
