As for the rest of it - this isn’t news. Belushi lived and he died. We all know the lifestyle he lived and how he died. No one was going to prevent it, and if Jane was so concerned about him she’d have more than 30 words to say about him.

So many fat guys were/are great comedic actors: Jackie Gleason, Oliver Hardy, Belushi, John Candy, Jack Black, Chris Farley, Rodney Dangerfield. I’m sure I missed someone.
In Belushi biography the author states that the folks who had to make sure Belushi was off drugs had him sparring with Bill super foot Wallace to keep him physically engaged. They also hired ex Secret Service guy to make sure no one slipped him cocaine. Weren’t completely successful.
He was so popular ..leading actor in movies, successful TV show, successful music act...add obsessive chemical psychotropic use...recipe for total disaster. His popularity and demands of being a “star” was way too much for his life experience and coping abilities to handle.
