I don’t see how this could be true without it causing a huge ruckus.
My thought would be the kidnapper tells the victim to keep quiet about the kidnapping. Probably a carrot and stick too. We will take this until you act and give you multiple billions when you do. The US coups are democratic like Ukraine and the color revolution we are trying to foment in Hungary. Other coups are just coups.
