I don’t take up the whole lane, I ride as close to the edge of the pavement as possible (which is pretty dangerous on a bicycle at 25-30 mph), because I am NOT an a**hole.

As for the attire, bike shorts are the way they are for good reason. The tight-fitting shirt is more optional, and really only needed if you are riding competitively.
