A driver of a Lamborghini was arrested for reckless driving by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) on Highway 1 in the Carmel Highlands.
CHP says they received multiple calls about exotic vehicles driving recklessly in the area Saturday morning and responded to the scene within minutes.
According to CHP, they saw the black Lamborghini driving the wrong way on a curve to pass three vehicles on Highway 1.
They say the car was travelling over 100 miles per hour.
The driver was arrested for reckless driving and his vehicle was towed.
The California Highway Patrol says the driver endangered his passenger and other drivers on the road and used this incident to remind people to drive safely.
If you keep going past Carmel Highlands into Big Sur, it can be very dangerous to drive.
I thought Adrienne Barbeau might be bored.
this is national news? I got pulled over as a teen driving 120+
Did you get a ticket?
Is that, perchance, a Person of Color? If so, was he was driving a car rented by his Nana? Or is he a young man of wealth?
Guess they don’t even need rear tags (plates) in California anymore?
Nice the way he leaves the rear of the car sticking out into the lane of traffic
You weren’t driving a Lamborghini through Big Sur.
Reminds me when I use to drive a Yellow cab in NYC in the 1990s, one night I pulled onto the Henry Hudson parkway and out of nowhere this Lamborghini or some other kind of exotic car like that pulled from my lane into the next lane doing what seemed to be 200 mph. Everything went into slow motion as if I was expecting to get killed and he went around me and disappear in a blink, just totally disappeared like a rocket. One of those close calls with death, if I was just a little bit slower he wouldn’t have had enough time to pull around me. I would imagine being hit as that speed would have pretty much vaporized the taxi and me.
Murcielago
But this was on a curve in the wrong lane. Safety first you know….
Lots of fun ... did it myself back in 67. TVR Griffith 289. On the way to Nepenthe for a burger and ice tea. On way back, would stop and Monterey wharf for an iced margarita.
California used to allow driving without plates for 6 months after purchase. Don’t know current status.
You went to Nepenthe at 100 MPH?
yep, cop pulled me over and suggested I join some sort of racing club where they drive on a real track.
LMAO
His Lamborghini does 100.
My Maserati does 185.
Somebody had to say it...
You lost your license, now you don’t drive
Thanks, did not know that, in my State; front and rear required, although I’m a scofflaw, neither of my vehicles have the front plates😳
80-120 depending on the stretch, had to slow a bit for some of the curves, but you get the idea. It was a long drive and had to be back at base curfew - the good ol’ days.
Wow, I don’t think I would try that. Fort Ord?
