“GPS down? How is that possible?....”

GPS position data comes from satellites. Those doing GPS navigation with their phones are also using the cellular network, which went down.

I think dedicated GPS devices with built in maps and dependency on only the satellites and a battery, continued to work.

That is the way I evaluate it.

If you had all the maps and stuff downloaded on your car GPS, it likely still worked.

I would entertain the concept this was set to destroy property to allow it to be sold for one reason or another at less than market value.

But I also thought this was a strange account.

IPhones use satellite information. Not just cellular.
