“ You a lizard?”

I walk my dog three times a day in it. Started hanging by the water in May. Back East, these were known as Hawaiian Tropic days. You need to prepare for the “dog days of August.”

It is currently 100F in Auburn, CA. Humidity is 19%. Low humidity makes it bearable with evaporation effect = no sweat. Does feel like a pizza oven though.

When we moved to Kent WA in 1988 most residents didn't even have screens on their windows, let alone AC. I was amazed at the size of the bugs that would come in when the windows were open. At least they weren't mosquitos. Every summer it would get hot and the locals were baking in the heat.

And ever winter when it snowed (usually once every winter) the same people were amazed that it snowed. "That never happens here!!!"

We moved back to Illinois in 1994 and haven't poured salt on a slug since then.

Yeah or what the humidity was. I live on The Jersey Shore. It isn't Phoenix(although I've been there) and hitting triple digit heat is not uncommon here but more often Summer in NJ is hazy, hot and humid and let me tell you, that sucks. After about three days of 90 degree heat and the humidity is around 75-80 per cent you're ready to kill somebody.

In a strange way I would think they’d be happy. After all it seems their dire Cassandra like warnings have come true, at least in their minds.

It’s summer. It gets hot. Welcome to the world. God some people are idiots.

I see that it was about 36% at noon, and it is 64% now at 2 am according to the barometer in my house. 95 degrees here is a lot more pleasant than when I grew up in the midwest where it was higher humidity.

I did some jobs in Florida and Washington D.C. when it was 100 degrees and high humidity. 2 minutes of getting stuff out of the truck and I was trenched in sweat. And then work all day in it. I’m too old for that nonsense now.

Same here. Like I say Jersey doesn’t always have triple digit heat in summer but humidity is the worst. I did the ‘’pick and shovel’’ routine until about six years ago. I had to get out.

I was tired of the heat, the cold and the work. With my current health I’d probably have had a heart attack if I kept at it.
