If they actually put Trump in jail, and the nation does not rise up with rage, then it's over anyways, and it won't matter which deep state stooge is pretending to run the place.
You have described the most likely outcome. An after-the-fact uprising is very unlikely but that is exactly what the deep state hopes for because they want to Jan 6th everybody into boxcars.
The answer to the orignal post is that neither the GOPe nor the GOPm wants to crush the enemy, drive them before us, or hear the lamentations of the women.
