By that statement, I meant that the State licensing agency, NY State Dept. of Health, never stated that it was unwise to put infected patients among the elderly in nursing homes
and never was there a State investigation into the issue prior, or subsequent, to having infected patients among the weakened and feeble elderly and isolated population.
Simple logic is to NOT have an infected population with a communicable disease merged into an uninfected population.
Furthermore, most private nursing home staff (nurse aides) are not sufficiently trained to deal with communicable diseases which puts patients and staff at risk.
Such actions led to a disproportionate spreading of the disease in nursing homes as opposed to the general population.
