A FR search for this turned up nothing, so I figured there should at least be one for this real operation of the Brits. I've heard something similar may have been done by the US.

My natural wonder is aimed at Monty Python... they MUST have been aware of this stuff as a basis to form their skit on the Funniest Joke (that won WW-2 in Europe). The skit originated in 1969, while Op Moneybags was 1964.
