We shan't disagree about that. I use whois.com as one tool among many, when I am curious about some site, since there is so much which presents itself as one thing, but is another. I take much to heart the notion -- It is "we" who are the data, to so many.
As to YouTube videos, currently the "about" for a channel locates the content creator. Most would not even think to look.

We laugh, but it is also a curse in the USA.
My career Navy father used to tell of some the problems.
Such as drinking “torpedo juice” that had dye and POSION added to prevent drinking. Some drank it and became VERY sick. Or running a still aboard ship and dropping dead from the fumes...
