Media (PA) heads to Little League World Series after dramatic 2-0 win over Washington DC [Walk off video at link]

Media is heading to the Little League World Series after a 2-0 victory Friday over Northwest Washington, D.C., in the Mid-Atlantic Regional championship in Bristol, Conn.

The Delaware County team won in dramatic fashion: Trevor Skowronek hit a walk-off, two-run home run in the seventh inning, which was Media’s first hit of the game.

The 20-team Little League World Series is set to begin Wednesday in Williamsport, Pa.

Friday’s matchup marked the second time the two teams faced off in the tournament. Media defeated Washington, 16-3, on Tuesday. The D.C. team pulled off a 1-0 win in a semifinal against Delaware on Thursday.

Good to see PA teams in the LLWS always, but I had higher hopes for this PA team. The DC pitcher must have had their number today. What a thrill though. As a kid, I can't think of anything topping hitting a walk off HR to send your team to the LLWS in your home state. Congrats Media, and congrats Trevor!

Well, they’re going to Williamsport. Happy for them, and happy for my hometown to be hosting a PA team again this year ($$$). The parade in the Port should be great.

Media is definitely not conservative. Delco county board raised the pride flag at the Media courthouse on June 6th, D-day. The are so heavily dem that they tip our school board elections to the dems even though they are only about 16% of the district’s tax base. Sort of like Philadelphia dominating PA.

Agreed. My friends in and around Philly are only there because they have to be there. Most would rather be in Lititz, FL, even the PA Wilds.
