I imagine this would be like trying to get somewhere towing a boat with a golf cart.
I’ve driven a few golf carts over the years.
I wouldn’t want one for my main form of transportation.
The phrase “ Dalbir Bala “ must translate to ‘dumbass’ in some language.
But for the life of me I can't imagine using an EV truck. My small ICE pickup can easily outwork the F-150 Lightning. And as far as using the Lightning for non-truck transportation (like on a family trip), the range, charging time, and miles/kWh ratio stink. (Analogous to low mpg of a big truck used only for commuting or driving on trips when a car would be better for that, including 5 minute fill ups for a car instead of 10 or more minute fill ups to fill up a large tank of a large pickup. EV pickups are the same requiring a large battery that takes longer to charge than an EV car to get less range.)
Last weekend my wife and I went on a trip to the beach in our ICE pickup because that trip included pickup chores for family friends and hauling cargo 300 miles. Yep, times like that are why the EV is the car and the ICE is the pickup. Had we not had the pickup chores our EV car would have made the trip just fine because of the range and fast charging (and my wife wanting to stop every 200 miles anyway LOL).

The government is using regulatory dictates to essentially end production and sales of fossil fuel vehicles by 2025. It has no plan to ensure the electric generation capability will be available to supply sufficient power nor does it have a plan to upgrade the distribution network (grid) to supply the charging stations required to service all electric transportation. In addition the dictates of government bureaucrats and politicians are forcing auto manufacturers to divert capital spending to support the 100% electric future vision.
This policy is distorting the markets, resulting parking lots full electric vehicles for which there are no buyers. Every time a story comes out about overstated driving distance for electric vehicles, the 10 year limited battery life, battery fires destroying cars and homes, and the high cost of acquiring an electric vehicle average citizens continue buying fossil fuel vehicles despite the declarations of politicians and intellectuals that fossil fuel production will soon end.
Assuming the “hoax” does end at some future date, the nation will have wasted billions, if not trillions, of dollars in capital which could have been spent on viable projects. This nation is essentially doing the same thing China did building empty cities.

Ya know, if I could buy a cheap EV with say 100 mile range for $10k and charge if at home, it would be practical for most of my daily driving needs. The IC engine has created a “one vehicle for all purposes” paradigm and EVs can’t compete. The manufacturers developed the wrong solution for the wrong reasons. Because of woke government meddling - if they’d been faced with meeting true market needs things would be completely different.
We have the technological capability to switch to EVs full time, if we are building at least 20 new nuclear plants right now to upgrade our grid. But we're not doing that so we're not serious.
In the 1970s, the U.S. went metric but that failed. We may see the same thing happen with EVs.

According to the strict criteria of the “green” environmentalists, an “environmentally friendly vehicle” is an oxymoron. Now, using electric power to drive the traction wheels of a motor vehicle is a pretty good idea. The conflict comes in from the means that are used to make or store the electrical power onboard the vehicle.
A compression ignition engine, a Diesel, is inherently much more efficient in most applications than a spark-ignition engine, a gasoline, propane or natural-gas engine that relies on an electrical spark to ignite the fuel-air mixture, the Diesel producing more energy per pound of fuel consumed, with the added virtue of consuming fuel very sparingly while running at idle and not producing much energy that can be harnessed, but when the engine is overfueled (the only way any internal-combustion engine increases rotational speed and power output), combustion is momentarily incomplete, resulting in big clouds of carbon microparticulates, blowing “smoke as black as coal”. People find this disagreeable. So Diesel-Electric is probably not a viable alternative for making hybrids out of heavy truck platforms.
Maybe an EXTERNAL combustion engine, say like a closed recirculation design that once powered the Doble Automobile back in the 1920’s, attached to an onboard power generation unit producing electricity to drive wheel traction motors, is a possible configuration for heavy trucks, with minimal reliance on a battery array.
But an EV relying entirely of a plug-in battery array as power supply can only be a niche vehicle, that is applicable in limited circumstance with any degree of reliability. Like an electrically-powered bicycle, or a similar commuter vehicle over relatively short distances.
There is an old rule with tech: Never be the first to buy a brand new technology. EVs are not “new” anymore, but the problems with them are not being resolved. And the longer people have them, the worse it seems to get.
I was in an MB auto showroom a few months ago, and the the salesman tried to interest me in one of their EVs. I asked: How long before it needs a replacement battery and how much do they cost? He said they are expected to last between 7-8 years and replacements cost $42K. So, basically, I have to almost buy a new car every 7-8 years. No thanks.
That’s 4 miles/dollar... about 14 MPGe.
That's about what my '97 Expedition gets. Costs around $80 at Washington state gas prices to get 275 miles range. We don't run the tank all the way down.
Of course:
1. It takes a few minutes to fill up.
2. We were never promised it would be "practically free" to run an ICE vehicle. The faces on those EV owners when they pay their first fast charge bill must be priceless.
For $85K US I just built my own F250 King Ranch offroad ... with all the bells and whistles. All the overthe top stuff I absolutely have to have for the business in West Texas. What was this guy thinking? Only problem would be fighting with my wife for whose truck it really is. “Trucks are for boys” doesn’t really cut it in my family.
Every charging station near me is a crime scene and not working.Great idea.Now handicapped people have terrible parking due to EV spaces. Give it up, another fail.
