Pence just pulled off his Dukakis-in-a-tank moment, on FNC appearing to pump gas into a pickup truck by inserting the nozzle in the filler but failing to pull the lever to dispense fuel into the tank. Kept talking, though.

Maybe his idea of saving money on gas is to do a drive-off.

That Gov D pic reminds me of the week that I worked as a TV Director for the DNC in 2008. I was behind enemy lines but it was fun. One segment, I had to help Gov Dukakis put on these big, wonky headsets so that he could hear the hosts interview him over the crowd noise. I handed the headset to him and said “Here you go, Governor. I’m sure you’re familiar with these things.” I didn’t mean it the way it came out, but sure as hell, he looked exactly as he did in the tank!
(I then played a large part in humiliating him on national tv, by accident... But that’s another story.)
