I did not do that many times.

I've had the Duc up to a buck fifty a few times. Pretty much stopped doing that once I hit the half century mark a couple of years ago.

There are Mad Ivines going by on the interstate at night fairly often. Every now and then one gets the splat they deserve. Hopefully without taking an innocent life.

Go do what?

I did road race bikes at Ontario motorspeedway, Riverside International, and Willow Springs in the mid-70’s.

The only HDs I ever saw road racing was the factory team, and they were as different from profiling cruisers as they could be.

I have a friend who was knocked of his bike on the highway by a bird strike - a vulture. He suffered but fully recovered…he was only wearing one of those brain bucket half helmets so his face got some serious road rash and permanent disfigurement to his nose too.

If you could extend hinged wings that would normally trail behind and had some kind of controllable empennage (tail section), you could easily fly over any traffic jam at that speed.

Went to the Keith Code school at Laguna Seca back then. They teach you how to ride fast on a track but not 200. On the way home we touched 140 and lost our nerve. That was a Honda VFR 750. 90s vintage. Could have gone faster with a different rider.

Just sold my BMW K1200S and it had 167 HP. 200 would be possible on that one.

The fun riding is more in the turns at speed; not speed per se.

And none of ‘em weighed 650 lbs. Did they?

A dyno’ed turbo ‘Busa can produce over 500 HP.

You may be able to outrun that Crown Vic but you can’t outrun the Motorola.

I grew up riding dirtbikes but I refused to ride on the road for the very kind of accident you are describing.

Everytime I see some moron in a car blow through intersections on red lights going so fast they nearly get airborn trying to get in under the light change I am reminded of why I stuck to dirt only.

Have not owned one since about 1987.

I’m 75 now.

Did they ticket him for speeding or flying too low?

—”you could easily fly over any traffic jam at that speed.”

The flying sounds good...But the landing maneuverability is going to need work.

May want to add in an airbag.

In the event of an accident, the airbag deploys utilizing a 100% mechanical trigger. This results in maximum reliability with no maintenance. Upon activation, a spring loaded piston pierces the C02 cartridge and rapidly inflates the airbag around the neck and body.

The air chambers are designed to stabilize the neck, spine and torso and reduce the force of impacts to vital organs.

The Haybusa motorcycle got it namesake from the peregrine falcon (200 mph dive!). Modern liter bikes make 200 hp so 200 mph is readily attainable speed these days.
