Yup, Dem voters are very slow on the uptake.
You have very large HOA fees plus homeowner insurance plus huge utility costs.
No one can buy a single home for first time buyer as they average $800,000 !! and need fixing up and is on a small .25 acre lot with a wall around it.
I saw this at nextdoor.com site for my local area.
“homeowners insurance renewal notice from State Farm. Last year $3899. The coming year $6592. 2000 sq ft house near Lost Hills”.

Lost Hills, Calabasas, California is near the San Fernando valley and about 15 miles north of me. Los Angeles is further south about 35 miles or so. The area had a huge fire that burned some 96,900+ acres in 2018.
