Volodymyr Labuzov was captured in May 2022 when the Ukrainian port of Mariupol fell to Russian forces after weeks of siege. A military doctor who had been working in a makeshift hospital inside the Azovstal steel plant, he was one of 2,500 prisoners taken by the Russians who were treated “brutally.”
