I can’t believe a building inspector would approve building on soil like that next to the river.

A few years ago the river was almost 150 feet away. This is the result of a jökulhlaup.

50 yards away on soil that can easily be eroded, I can putt a golf ball 50 yards, that's pretty close unless you're on rock.
