Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot and Hitler would agree 1000%! We are being run by tyrants that hate us!

I wonder what position SCOTUS would take on obscene taxes on things like firearms and ammunition. Recent decisions...Heller,MacDonald,Bruen and Caetano (Caetano was 9-0)...suggest to me that they wouldn't like them at all.

“If the text does remain unchanged, the 1000% tax would apply to every “semiautomatic assault weapon” with a fixed magazine that held 10 or more rounds.”
Hey, no problem, only applies to “fixed magazines”. Just make sure all firearms have removable box magazines.
These people are stupidly dangerous and have no idea what they are even talking about.

That would ensure poor people would never get legal weapons.
Even not-so-poor people.

I have an AK47 for sell at the moment, can I expect the price to start skyrocketing? /s
Okay, in all seriousness, this legislation is DOA and simply political posturing. I presume they are doing this simply to establish standing for fundraising?

Somehow me thinks that taxing a right into oblivion might be slightly unconstitutional.

The FET only applies to fully-assembled weapons. Firearm parts are not subject to it. All the manufacturer has to do is sell the gun minus one part, ... say, ... the charging handle. And then give away a free charging handle (in separate packaging) with each AR (minus) sold.
No FET.
On top of which, with the current SCOTUS, this would never pass constitutional muster.
